Privacy Policy
Last updated September 9, 2026.
RunWhatMatters, Inc. ("RunWhatMatters," "we," "us") operates runwhatmatters.com and provides enterprise software engineering services. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors, prospects, and clients, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- You give it to us directly — through the contact form, the booking flow, an emailed brief, or a signed statement of work. This typically includes name, work email, company, phone number (optional), project description, budget range, and any files you choose to share.
- Your browser sends it automatically — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location, collected through standard web analytics.
- We enrich it, server-side, from your work email — company size, industry, and public firmographic signals, used to route your inquiry to the right engineer faster. This never runs client-side and never blocks form submission if it fails.
2. How we use it
- To respond to inquiries and route them to the right engineer.
- To schedule and confirm scoping calls and working sessions.
- To operate, secure, and improve this website.
- To send project-related communication if you're an active client or prospect — never unsolicited marketing to a purchased list.
3. What we don't do
We don't sell personal information. We don't share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We don't use dark patterns to collect more than we need — see the qualification form's own field list: never more than four visible fields on one screen.
4. Cookies and analytics
This site uses a cookie consent tool (CookieHub) to gate non-essential cookies until you consent. Analytics runs through GA4 with server-side tagging. You can withdraw consent at any time through the cookie preferences link in this site's footer-adjacent consent banner, or by clearing your browser's site data.
5. Data retention
Inquiry and booking data is retained for as long as needed to respond to your request, and for active clients, for the duration of the engagement plus the period required by our contractual and tax obligations. You can request deletion at any time — see Section 7.
6. Subprocessors
We use a small set of vetted vendors to run this site and our sales process: web hosting/CDN, form and analytics infrastructure, a CRM for storing inquiries, and a calendar-booking provider. Each is bound by its own data-processing terms. A full current list is available on request — email hello@runwhatmatters.com.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of any processing that isn't necessary to respond to your inquiry. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@runwhatmatters.com — we respond within 30 days.
8. Client and project data
Source code, credentials, and business data shared with us during an engagement are governed by the signed statement of work and mutual NDA for that engagement, not by this public-facing policy. For how we handle that data operationally, see our security page.
9. Children
This site and our services are directed at businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
